Scott Butterfield joined Rice Management Company in 2018 and is an Associate Director. Mr. Butterfield is responsible for overseeing the financial and operating performance of the endowment real estate portfolio, including the management of best-in-class development and operating partners. Prior to joining Rice University, Mr. Butterfield spent fifteen years in the real estate private equity industry performing asset management, investment acquisitions, portfolio management and financial reporting responsibilities for $1.7 billion of opportunistic funds as a Managing Director at AMG Capital, Director of Investments at Alcion Ventures, and Controller at Hines. He began his career as an auditor with the Commercial and Financial Audit Division of Arthur Andersen. Mr. Butterfield received a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from MIT and has a Master of Accounting and B.A. in Economics from Rice University. He is a licensed CPA in Texas.
