Scott Butterfield joined Rice Management Company in 2018 and is a Director of Real Estate Investments. Mr. Butterfield is responsible for overseeing the real estate funds and joint ventures investment portfolio. Prior to joining Rice University, Mr. Butterfield spent fifteen years in the real estate private equity industry, performing investment acquisitions, asset management, portfolio management, and investor reporting responsibilities for $1.7 billion of opportunistic funds as a Managing Director at AMG Capital, Director of Investments at Alcion Ventures, and Controller at Hines. He was previously Director of Real Estate at TxDOT and began his career as an auditor at Arthur Andersen. Mr. Butterfield received a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from MIT and has a Master of Accounting and a B.A. in Economics from Rice University. He is a licensed CPA in the state of Texas.
