Muheez Afolabi joined Rice Management Company in 2026 and is a Senior Endowment Counsel. Prior to joining RMC, Muheez was a Legal and Compliance Associate at First Trust Capital Management, where he advised on fund launches, structured credit products, and investment management matters across private and registered funds. Previously, he served as a Legal Associate at the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (Nigeria’s Sovereign Wealth Fund), where he worked on global fund investments, infrastructure fund formation, and sovereign-backed venture capital initiatives.

Earlier in his career, Muheez was an Associate in the Private Investment Funds group at Goodwin Procter LLP, advising sponsors on the formation and operation of private equity, venture capital, credit, infrastructure, real estate, and hedge funds.

Muheez received a J.D. from Boston College Law School and an M.B.A. from Boston College Carroll School of Management. He earned a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy from Michigan State University.
