Austen Smith joined Rice Management Company in 2021 as the Investment Manager, Marketable Securities. In this role, he provides support to the Investment Team through investment and manager research and analysis as well as portfolio monitoring across various asset classes. Mr. Smith previously spent seven years at the JPMorgan Private Bank in Houston as an Investment Specialist where he advised family offices on investment portfolio decisions, including asset allocation, manager selection, and opportunistic investments. He has Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics and Human Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University and is a CFA® charter holder.
